Essex St, Prahran – Icon 2025

Scope of Works:

Engaged by ICON as an accredited South East Water (SEW) contractor, our team delivered critical potable water and sewer infrastructure upgrades for the Homes Victoria housing development in Prahran. Operating within a high-density urban footprint, this project required complex network modifications to decommission redundant assets, establish new connections, and increase overall supply capacity for the incoming housing estate.

Works included:

• Safely excavated to depths of 3m to systematically cut, seal, and decommission twelve (12) existing sewer connections.
• Installed a new DN225 sewer branch, seamlessly integrating it via a live tie-in to an existing maintenance hole.
• Delivered a major 400-meter potable water main upgrade, upsizing the network from DN100 to DN150 across Malvern Road, Essex Street, and Princess Street to support the development's increased demand.
• Managed rigorous compliance testing, coordinating directly with third-party consultants and SEW representatives to achieve final operational sign-off.
