Little Bourke St, Melbourne – Hickory 2026

Scope of Works:

Engaged by Hickory, our team delivered specialised sewer infrastructure connections and upgrades for a new commercial development site along Little Bourke Street. This highly complex project required strict adherence to Greater Western Water Confined Space Entry (CSE) protocols, careful navigation of deep excavations, and the execution of live sewer works within a high-traffic environment in the Melbourne CBD road reserve.

Works included:

• Executed safe excavations to the existing sewer main, including the supply and installation of all trench shields and shoring, and successfully bored from the property boundary to the existing manhole.
• Constructed a new maintenance structure and installed an inspection shaft (27A) to ground level, alongside connecting new 150mm and 225mm branches into the development site and basement.
• Deployed a Greater Western Water-accredited CSE crew to safely conduct live sewer operations within the existing Little Bourke Street manhole, supported by comprehensive traffic and pedestrian management.
